Where to go shopping in Lanzarote

If you are thinking about shopping in Lanzarote, you will find several shopping centres for your holiday shopping. The main shops are located in Arrecife (the capital of Lanzarote), Playa Blanca, Costa Teguise, Puerto del Carmen, Playa Honda and Teguise.

Shopping in Arrecife

The main commercial activity in Lanzarote is located in its capital, Arrecife. There are several areas that you can visit, the most popular is Calle León y Castillo and its surroundings. There are also a couple of shopping centres to visit, with shops of top brands and food shops where you can stop to regain strength with a good snack.

On Saturdays, at the market in front of the church of San Ginés, you can buy traditional local products from the region.

In José Betancort Street, you will find the César Manrique Foundation Store, which sells the products related to the works of this great internationally famous artist and architect of Lanzarote.

Visiting Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca is undoubtedly an excellent shopping area. The best place there is Limones street, where tourists and locals walk around to make their purchases, have a nice stroll through the town or enjoy the local cuisine.

On the Paseo Marítimo, Papagayo Avenue and the Marina Rubicón promenade, you will find more commercial stores of different brands.

In Costa Teguise

At this tourist point, the predominant shopping areas are located on streets Av. Islas Canarias and Av. del Jablillo. Most of the shops are dedicated to selling the products of brands related to aquatic sports activities. Also, many shops sell duty free items and souvenirs apart from aquatic items. There are more duty free shops and bazars than anything else.

If you like handicrafts, a market is set up in Pueblo Marinero during Friday afternoons. In this area, you will also find more shops to visit. There, you will also find a wide gastronomic offer.

Puerto del Carmen

Puerto del Carmen is the second commercial core of the island of Lanzarote, after Arrecife. The shops in this town run along the Avenida de las Playas and they are more oriented to tourists.

In the Biosfera Plaza Shopping Centre, you will find fashion clothes stores, jewellery, lingerie, home accessories, perfumeries, as well as restaurants, cafes and entertainment for adults and children.

Playa Honda

You can spend all day in the shopping mall of this town, visiting more than 60 stores that are distributed throughout the complex. You can buy at your leisure and have a snack and then continue shopping. And if you want to take a longer break, you can buy a movie ticket and enjoy some relaxing time.

Teguise

You will find the most important flea market in all of Lanzarote on Sundays in Teguise. There, you can buy traditional products, souvenirs, arts and crafts. There are many places to see and to choose from the variety local produce.

The local shops offer their native products and their typical handicrafts. For example, you can buy a traditional braided straw hat from the towns of Yaiza and Tinajo, to remember this trip forever!
