How to get to Playa Blanca and everything it offers

One of the best options to travel from Fuerteventura to Lanzarote is by ferry. Líneas Romero offers regular lines and fantastic day trips at very attractive prices. You can discover another Canary island on your vacation in a comfortable and easy way, with a pleasant 45 minute boat ride. You do not need to board a long time in advance or buy the ticket days before. In less than an hour you will open your eyes in Playa Blanca, a pretty village of white houses surrounded by palm trees and volcanic stones. It’s as simple as taking a bus. Are you going to miss it?

To Playa Blanca with regular lines

There are regular lines that sail four times a day from Corralejo to Playa Blanca, on the south coast of Lanzarote. The first boat departs at 10:30 am and the last return trip to Fuerteventura is at 4:30 pm, so you have a long day to enjoy the most of Playa Blanca. During the voyage you can travel on the deck or in the interior of the boat, depending on your preference. In addition, you will have free Wi-Fi and a bar service to fully enjoy the trip.

Excursion to Playa Blanca

But if you want to enjoy your vacation with all the comforts, you can book an organized excursion to Playa Blanca. There are many, but we love Atlantic Adventure from Fuerteventura the most. Why is it our favourite? For many reasons, among them, because the coach picks you up and leaves you back at the closest pick-up point to your Fuerteventura hotel, and because you can get to know Playa Blanca on your own and discover the Papagayo coast by practicing different aquatic activities such as snorkelling or kayaking. Sounds fantastic, doesn’t it? There is more – with this excursion you will also have free bar on board and you can experience a ride on a banana boat.

No doubt you will not have a moment to get bored, unless you decide to relax lying on the sand of the Papagayo beach, one of the most beautiful and popular of the island, with crystal clear waters and gentle waves. But you can do that after visiting Playa Blanca, one of the most important tourist centres of Lanzarote.

What to see in Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca is one of the most famous areas of Lanzarote that combines its maritime tradition with sustainable tourism. Formally a small fishing village, it was transformed with the arrival of tourism. Even so, it has received various awards for its sustainability, conservation and respect for the environment over the years.

Today Playa Blanca has a wide offer for a tourist. Shops, restaurants and bars for all tastes and pockets. Its main axes are the marine promenade and the street of Limones, a street with a great number of shops.

Restaurants and bars

Fancy a good dinner? The restaurant La Romántica is one of those that receive more positive comments from travellers. It has sea views and a creative menu with dishes of pastas, meats and, of course, fish.

For a drink in the evening we recommend Jungle Bar. There you can enjoy concerts every night and it is located on the seafront. It is wonderful to listen to live music and enjoy extraordinary views. During the day they also serve nice meals. You’ll love it!

The beaches

There are 3 beaches with transparent waters and fine golden sand in Playa Blanca. The longest one is located in the central area of the town’s seafront promenade. If we head west along the avenue that runs along the coast, we will arrive to Playa Flamingo, and if we head east, we will discover Playa Dorada.

These 3 beaches are, for many, the most beautiful ones in Lanzarote. In addition, being located in the south of the island, they have a spectacular climate all year round – during the winter months it is the warmest area of the island.
