Montañas de Fuego

Timanfaya National Park is a unique place where children will enjoy themselves and discover many new things. Can you imagine being able to grill chicken over a volcanic crater or riding a camel through a black sand desert? This and so much more is possible in this magical corner of the planet.

It is the only geological national park of the Spanish National Parks Network. You can see the volcanic eruptions effects occurred recently, about 200 years ago. The 50 km2 landscape is impressive: there’s no vegetation, mounds made of dunes and a beautiful range of colors: orange, red, ochre, brownish, black… Plus the crater silhouettes and the abrupt coast, all together make it a unique place in the world.

The well-known Islote de Hilario carries the artistic mark of Cesar Manrique. It is one more example of nature turned into art. It is a National Park museum and guaguas (buses) leaving point to the most attractive park. In this area there is also a curious restaurant called El Diablo, where ingredients are cooked with the heat of the earth. Simply amazing!

Lanzarote Aquarium

Lanzarote has an incredible aquarium. It has more than one million liters of water, distributed in 33 areas. If you visit this aquarium, you will see hundreds of different marine species and stroll along a tunnel surrounded by sharks and other dangerous species. But if you prefer to stay far away from them, you can just enjoy a sharks feeding activity. The aquarium organizes interesting visits so visitors can see how the most global dangerous sea animals are fed.

Can you imagine using a boat as a bus? In Lanzarote, it is possible. It’s not like Venice, because in this experience you will travel on the open Atlantic Ocean, and you will have lots of fun. You can go on a day trip from Puerto Carmen to Puerto Calero  for a reasonable price. There are 6 departures per day, from 10am to 5.45pm.

Marina Rubicón

In this area of the southern side of the island, you can visit Marina Rubicon. It is always a good time to walk on its cobbled streets and see its wharfs with beautiful moored yachts. However, Wednesdays and Saturdays are special days: from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. you can enjoy a flea market; the wharf is full of colorful and joyful shops. In addition, occasionally there are dynamics and activities prepared for children. Here you can take the chance to buy something that will remind you of this journey, like original souvenirs, local volcanic wines, or very distinctive aloe vera treatments of Lanzarote.
