What to bring on a boat trip?

Sailing is a very beautiful experience and one that needs some planning, since once we are on the boat, there is no going back. Hence, you need to bear in mind that boat excursions can include visits to urban centres, beaches or coves hiding in coastline and you have to be prepared for either of these stops. Thus, it’s essential to plan what will be necessary to take with you in order to fully enjoy the journey.

1. A camera to have some memories

The happiest memories, the most beautiful landscapes and some funny moments can be immortalised if you take photo or record a video. With a camera at hand you can capture all those moments you want to endure and those that you want to share with your loved ones. Obviously, whoever says camera nowadays usually refers to a mobile phone, right?

2. Comfortable clothing for boat travel

Our favourite boat trips to Fuerteventura, Lanzarote or La Graciosa islands invite you to take a dip into the sea, to try some water activities as well to sunbathe on a white sandy beach… And as you may know cold cloudy days are extremely rare in these islands, so you should wear light clothing to withstand the heat, comfortable shoes if you have to do some exploring on land. Swimwear is essential for diving or practising water sports. And it does not hurt to wear some light jacket for when the sun goes down, if possible waterproof, after all, it is a boat trip…

3. High SPF protectionr

Spring is present all year round on these islands, and the sun is out most of the year, so we must protect ourselves from it, even in winter! And let’s be honest you don’t want to get burnt on a boat trip. So please wear a high SPF protection  to avoid damaging your skin and a hat or cap to avoid heat stroke is essential. Also don’t forget to wear sunglasses, the reflection of the sun in the sea can affect your sight.

4. Beach towel

Boat trips take you to golden sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. Laying in the sand to safely sunbathe and go for swim will be tempting, so most certainly you will need to bring a beach towel.

5. And what about some binoculars?

Although they are not essential, it can be an interesting tool to bring over since they might allow you to discover what’s beyond the horizon. You might be surprise to discover some dolphins, and that’s something you will rather not to miss.

6. Documentation is indispensable

All the aforementioned will be useless if you don’t have your personal documentation and your excursion ticket with you. They’re essential to get on board.

Although they are not essential, it can be an interesting tool to bring over since they might allow you to discover what’s beyond the horizon. You might be surprise to discover some dolphins, and that’s something you will rather not to miss.

Don’t forget your identity document or passport. It is advisable to ask the company what documentation must be provided for the trip.

Sailing between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote

If you are in Fuerteventura you can spend a full day of fun on the neighbouring island of Lanzarote. In Corralejo you can board a ferry that will take you to Playa Blanca in Lanzarote where you will spend a wonderful day whether you decide to try one of the amazing excursions available or enjoy the sun in the best beaches of the area. The journey lasts almost 30 minutes. During that time you will be able to enjoy the views and the sea breeze on deck. There are several departure times from Corralejo during the day so you can travel whenever you want and have a complete experience on these wonderful islands.
